Marion Yagoda grew up in Detroit. She went to work at the age of 16 because her father did not think women needed to get their high school diploma. Marion worked making wing tips on the B-17s and B-29s where she was responsible for upping the production of wing tips from half a wing tip per day to two and half wing tips per day. She also worked at the Initiation Center serving food to the men. Marion went back to school when she was in her 80s and recently received her High School diploma.
