Frances Ellis started out as a bucker in Seattle, Washington for Boeing Aircraft but when her partner, a riveter, got pregnant, they had Ellis start riveting. She worked on the bulkhead of the P-38s. She said security was tight at the plant much like the security at airports today, because everyone was concerned about Japanese spies. She worked with women of all ages.
