Eva Chenevert was one of nine children. She was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1925. During World War II she worked as a riveter at Desoto Chrysler making the skins for airplanes. While most of the supervisors and inspectors were men, Chenevert does remember one of her direct superiors was a woman. She did not work at the factory very long. She took a two-week leave of absences to visit her husband while he was on furlough and never returned.
