This interview was made possible by the generous support of Cynthia and Richard Blumenthal.Dorice Dorine Hamilton was trained as a welder but found a job as a riveter for Boeing in Wichita, Kansas. The temperature in the building where she worked was 120° and the hydro press that she used to make parts was very loud. After her sister graduated from high school, she joined Dorice in Wichita. She had trouble finding a job as a Rosie because the people at Boeing felt she was too small. Dorice is the historian for the American Rosie the Riveter Association.
